Wisconsin Fair Tax Plan offers fair funding of education for equal educational opportunity in Wisconsin; property taxes reduced to a small local tax for local property related services; tax equity without exemptions for a few; and the elimination of pay for special-interest tax exemptions and benefits.

Republicans controlled the Wisconsin Legislature after Michigan slashed their property tax and nothing was done. Perhaps Democrats will do something now that they control the Wisconsin Senate.
The vast majority of the Assembly voted in 1994 to take schools off the property tax. We expect the Senate to do the same in 2007!
